I used to play the piano when I was younger but haven't played for many years - can I still come for piano lessons?

Yes, I have many pupils that I teach who have played in their younger years and are looking to revisit playing the piano after a break. You will be surprised how quickly your knowledge can be unlocked again!

I teach all my piano lessons from my home teaching space located on Waveney Road, Hull, HU8 9ES. It is a great place to learn to play the piano, with all the resources we need during our lessons. Click on the map below to bring up my rough teaching location on Google Maps.

I can't read music - can I still learn?

Certainly, no previous music knowledge required. I will teach all that you need to know in our piano lessons to enable you to master the instrument.

What songs will we play?

That is entirely down to you, the student. I cover a wide range of different styles of music and create individually tailored lessons to suit the musical styles of each of my students.

Do I need a piano before I start taking lessons?

You don't need to own a piano/keyboard before you start taking piano lessons. However, I do recommend that you buy a piano/keyboard or at least have access to a piano to practice on during the week. I am more than happy to help advise you about what might be a good first piano/keyboard to buy, you can also read more about local music shops who could help you in an article here: Piano Shops in Hull.
